Iran has released footage of the USS Dwight D Eisenhower aircraft carrier in the Strait of Hormuz.

It recently navigated into the Persian Gulf to support US missions in the area.

“On Nov 26, the Carrier Strike Group Eisenhower completed a transit of the Strait of Hormuz to enter the waters of the Arabian Gulf as the Strike Group continues to support US Central Command missions,” US Central Command said on X.

It added that while it is in the Persian Gulf, it will be patrolling to “ensure freedom of navigation in key international waterways while supporting Centcom requirements throughout the region”.

The aircraft carrier was accompanied by the guided-missile cruiser USS Philippine Sea, guided-missile destroyers USS Gravely and the USS Stethem, and the French frigate Languedoc.

The presence of the United States Fifth Fleet was strengthened in the region after Hamas’s attack on Israel on Oct 7.
